A gather of clear molten glass is pulled from the crucible and a coating of sparkling gold dichroics are applied. Hand pulled, bright orange glass canes are swirled around the dichroics in tight storm vortices which are then cased in a crystal clear globe. A Solar Flare is a giant explosion in the Sun's atmosphere releasing proton storms of high energy particles that cause biochemical damage in astronauts. On January 20, 2005 a flare released the highest concentration of protons ever measured. 3" W x 4.5" H
